What is Ecotourism?

Ecotourism is defined as "responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people". - TIES

Ecotourism is an increasingly popular form of tourism in which tourists seek out wild and scenic areas such as rainforests or mountains for an active and educational trip.

Ecotourism has also become popular among people interested in both environmental conservation and sustainable development. It has been called a way to save the forest and a "win-win development strategy for undeveloped rural areas."

The Sloth Bear Foundation has designed many expeditions to the unspoilt areas of wild India in different areas like tiger, elephant, bears, primates, birds, butterfly, insects, orchids, forest tours, etc.
