It is a matter of patience, perseverance and “hide and seek” with the great diversity of wildlife in the number of wildlife parks in the country. Home to amazing 1250 species of birds , nearly 375 species of mammals , and great variety of reptiles, amphibians, insects and butterflies, India is a great wildlife paradise.
It is not just seeing them that make these destinations fabulous! It is the fantastic opportunities that it provides for photographers , both amateur and Professional that is so unique to tailor made safaris. Whether it is the North, the South, the East, the West or Central India;the country has plenty of wildlife in many national parks and sanctuaries across the country.
There are nearly 27 Project tiger reserves, more than 125 National parks and sanctuaries spread across a huge land mass. Variety of habitat is supporting endangered species such as tigers, elephants, rhinoceros, water buffaloes, Swamp deer, Sloth bears and so on. It is also regarded as one of the mega diversity hotspot in the world.
A few of the famous wildlife sanctuaries and national parks are Bandhavgarh, Kaziranga, Kanha, Bandipur, Periyar, Gir, Ranthambore, Bharatpur, Nagarhole, Corbett etc. Most of them are Project Tiger reserves, which are home to the famous Royal Bengal Tiger along with many other wildlife species. A photograph of a roaring Lion, yawning tiger, an alert leopard, an ambling tusker or huge flying pelicans; you could get an opportunity to capture some unbelievable moments in the wild giving you the satisfaction and thrill of wildlife photography.
Capturing the natural wonders of India is another popular theme with the wildlife photography tours of India. Mr. D.K. Bhaskar has spent large part of his life in the jungles of India. For more than a decade, he has seen the diversity of wildlife in North, south, west and east and he is a great character, full of wit, knowledge, experience and humor. D.K Bhaskar is an experienced Naturalist, writer and photographer with wide exposure to the wildlife of the world. He is a regular tour leader for many groups from different parts of the world and always much sought after. India is a land of Lions, elephants, tigers and much more. His passion for India’s wilderness and understanding the species of wild India is awesome. Bandipur : Declared a Project Tiger reserve way back in 1973, it was one of the prime hunting grounds of the British and the Mysore rulers. It is a part of the large Nilgiri Biosphere reserve. It is estimated that more than 80 tigers live in this national park. More than 250 species of birds and nearly 150 species of mammals add majesty to the alluring diversity of wildlife. A visit to this national park will make one’s ambition to photograph a wild tusker or a herd of elephants or a pack of wild dogs hunting the Sambar or the Gaurs’ indomitable muscle power worthwhile in every sense.

Ranganthitoo : On the banks of the famous south Indian River Cauvery is the world famous Bird sanctuary. Home to more than 170 species of birds depending on different seasons, it is a paradise for both observing and photographing avian life at very close quarters. Be it the egrets, herons, cormorants, kingfishers, weaverbird, spoonbills, crocodiles, bats, there is no place like Ranganthitoo.
Nagarhole national park : A dam across the river Kabini has formed picturesque backwaters in the famed Nagarhole National park. Literally meaning, snake river, it is a place of extraordinary diversity and forms a contiguous forests with Bandipur, Mudumalai and Waynad national parks. A haven for the wild tuskers, this place beats to the sounds of jungle life. An encounter with the pachyderms, tiger, leopard, bear, wild dogs, and innumerable species of birds is a sight to cherish all your lifetime. Bhaskar’s knowledge on the wilderness and photographic challenges will make your trip a worthwhile effort.

Mudumalai : This sanctuary is located where the Nilgiri Hills, the offshoot of the Western Ghats meet the Eastern Ghats. The vegetation is varied. The hilly terrain of the Western Ghats, clothed in dense mixed and moist deciduous forests, make Mudumalai (the ancient hills) a most attractive wildlife reserve. Here the Moyar River, which is the main water source, after meandering through the sanctuary, leaps into a 300-meter deep gorge, an impressive sight during rainy season. One of the great places to photograph Malabar giant squirrel, elephant herds, and otters, Mudumalai offers some unforgettable opportunities with leopards and tigers. Of course, come ready with loads of luck!

| Day 01 | Drive to Ranganthitoo, a bird sanctuary on the river Cauvery. Arrive at 8.00 AM. An exclusive boat will take the group in the natural islands formed by the famous south Indian River Cauvery. Depending on the season, a vide variety of birds is seen and excellent photographic opportunities are available. Apart from the incredible diversity of Bird life, landscape is equally breathtaking and it is a great place to photograph the Fresh water crocodiles and flying foxes. More than 150 species of birds are identified in this ecosystem. 10.30 AM: Break for tea 11.00 AM: Sightseeing on the other banks of this famous river and architectural marvels of the Moghul empire. 12.30-1.30 PM: Lunch 2.00 PM: Sightseeing at Srirangapatna [ Option of going to Mysore and having tea, lunch and visiting the famous Mysore palace and coming back to Ranganthittoo] 3.30 PM: Second session at Ranganthitoo bird sanctuary 6.00 PM: Drive to Mysore and rest at Mysore
